WE HAVE had the 'Third Way' and the 'Waterway Trust', but now 'Civil Society' is the latest buzz word for the re-branding of the waterways!

WITH its shortage of cash why is it that British Waterways do not claim from boaters' insurance when they damage its property?

BEING very used to the antics of Canaltimers after they are let loose from Sawley Marina, I accept it as normal so make no comment, but the  problems of one crew last Tuesday definitely needs a mention.

I RECKON that the number of boats builders exhibiting at Crick, give us a very good idea of the state of the industry.

ON THE theme of frittering away our maintenance cash, this month our masters and the Environment Agency, both of whom  are drastically short of the readys, are hosting a prodigious conference in Cardiff concerning the Welsh waterways.

AFTER 13 years of cruising to a fairly strict schedule to far flung destinations, we all thought an easy dawdle around the Leicester Ring would suit us very nicely indeed, but oh! after only a few years the deterioration is shocking.

I'VE AFRAID I have little sympathy with those linear boaters taking up so much mooring space in Bathampton and Bath on the Kennet & Avon.
