ONCE again that very popular show Where the Working Boats Went is being presented around the country.

The show is presented by Life and Times, the duo comprising of Graeme Meek and Barry Goodman, and tells the working of the waterways in the past.

Two boaters

Presented in two parts, with an interval, the first part is set in the early 1870s, with two boaters meeting on the canalside and discussing life on the cut for themselves and their forebears.

Part two is set in the late 1950s, about 10 years after the nationalisation of the waterways. Two boatmen in a canalside pub consider how life on the canals has changed since their fathers' day and how it might be in the future.

The dates

  • 25th February Whitchurch Leisure Centre, Shropshire
  • 17th March Snibston Century Theatre, Coalville, Leicestershire
  • 28th April British Schools Museum, Hitchin, Hertfordshire
  • 19th May St Andrews Parish Church, Langford, Bedfordshire.
