Shobnall Marina reopens

I'm pleased to able to inform boaters in the region that the facilities have now reopened at Shobnall Marina on the Trent & Mersey at Burton on Trent, writes Ralph Freeman.

It was recently reported in narrowboatworld that Shobnall Boat Services had ceased trading, but the facilities have now reopened under the familiar name Jannel Cruisers. I received the information from Janette Orton, who runs the marina facilities at the site and is well known to local boaters, who told me:

Open for all services

"Just to let you know that we are now back open for all services. The newly painted dry dock which is now up and running with its first boat back in.

"Gareth, who will be running the dock alongside Mike and myself, is a fully coded welder, mechanical engineer, and did his apprenticeship on Gardner engines so our customers can rest assured that the workshop is in very capable hands. Gareth has lived on his boat with his wife Clare for over 10 years so also has first hand experience of boats and boating."

The chandlery too is being reopened, and Janette tells that she welcomes customers old and new, and I am sure the readers of narrowboatworld wish Janette well in this new venture.
