Tom is far too modest to say this himself but I know he has not been experiencing the best of health these last few months. His love of the NbW website and all that the content gives to it's many readers has driven him on. I applaud him for his dedication knowing that I have perhaps sent him masses of material to sift through let alone the input from various other sources from which he manages to publish important items nearly every day.

Again thank you Tom for all your hard work.

Whilst there are many volunteers around giving many hours to the waterways and events, etc., I just wonder how their man-hours compare with Tom, who obviously puts in many hours nearly every day giving us narrowboatworld?

I should imagine a normal eight hour day is nothing like some of the days - the ultimate volunteer in service to the waterways!

I echo that. For he's a jolly good fellow!!

One thing that Tom's birthday piece doesn't mention is the fact that other, hard copy, ponderous, slow organs look to NbW for much of their information on the waterways. They print news that is already two months out of date. In NbW often important news events appear within 24 hours of them happening, and they are reported as they are with no official spin attached.

Here's to the next ten years.
