Sounds like someone didn't quite grasp the concept of a water bed!

The worst thing we picked up was a double sprung mattress on the blades of a 72ft trip boat. Luckily we had just unloaded the passengers and were turning the boat when it happened, but we stood no chance of getting it off, and had to tow the boat back to base, in the dark, trailing the damned thing.

I spent a Sunday morning up to my neck in water, cutting it off with bolt croppers.

You could always try recycling the bags you retrieve from the prop in Tesco's and get Green Clubcard Points!!!

My neighbour on the marina came back from a trip to Ely at a very slow pace inspite of more revs than usual. When he opened up his weed hatch, he found a full set of living room curtains round his prop, probably blown off someone's washing line in the recent high winds.

It wasn't my boat. I passed a boat at the boatyard today that had just been pulled out for a bottom blacking and there were loads of plastic bags round his prop. It could be something to do with the fact that he moors right at the end of the basin where all the rubbish ends up. Shame I couldn't find a way of posting the picture. Lets have another go. Ah, uploaded as my profile picture.

I think I would have noticed if I had picked this lot up on my blade.
